I didn't have cable as a 16-year old kid So my first real experience was listening to the playoffs on my stereo in my parents basement (now I have cable). This is to say my first real experience with the Stanley Cup Playoffs was Mike Haynes voice describing games to me as I sat on my floor imagining the Avs winning game after game on their way to the title. I can still remember his epic night of calling save after save until Uwe Krupp blasted home a shot just inside the blue line.
So get well Mike I wish you the best. (That's how injury bitten the avs have been this season, their play-by-play man has been affected even.)
