After the first 2 games of the finals this season the championship looked locked up. It was inevitable that the frontrunner was going to go home with the championship. Then a funny thing happened, Sidney Crosby and Marion Hossa awoke from their slumber and started scoring points. The presumed champs starting looking nervous, and after Pittsburghs furious rally and epic goal in game 5 it looked like the comeback was still a distinct possibility. You could feel it coming.

So, at the end of game 6, as Crosby's last chance desperation backhander went wide, and Hossa couldn't jam in the rebound the comeback was denied, and there was much sadness. That's right I was so close to winning the championship.

If you've been following the Jibblescribbits playoff pool at all you know that despite being 6 points down going into the Cup finals, I still nearly caught the leader cutting the lead at one point down to 2. In the end, StructuralPoke (AKA Chris) prevailed, and has won himself a free post, or something. (StructuralPoke-e-mail me and we'll figure out a good prize). So here's a trophy presentation I'm sure StructuralPoke will enjoy:

More importantly than the 'pokes championship is that the Jibblewife played the Senators to my Pittsburgh Penguins, meaning I can feel artificially secure about my masculinity all summer repeatedly gloating until it drives her insane...So I've got that going for me.
