I'm still on vacation, but I'd thought I'd check in with an observation from the promised land.

Last Sunday I went to the Colorado Renaissance Festival. While there I kept a mental tally of local sports teams paraphernalia that I encountered:

Broncos: ~ 24
Avalanche: ~12
Nuggets/Rockies: ~ 6 apiece

While this is obviously a very informal and unscientific assessment of local team popularity, the fact that I saw about a dozen Avs hats in the middle of the offseason is just another piece of evidence that the demise of hockey is greatly exaggerated in the Rocky Mountain Region.

I'll be back on a regular basis on Monday, and I've been thinking of some nice topics that I think will spark some debate.
